1. Ampera Bridge
Ampera Bridge stretches over the Musi River and is located in the center of Palembang City. It serves as a connecting link between Seberang Ulu and Seberang Ilir areas.
The bridge was built in 1962 and inaugurated in 1965. It is an icon of Palembang City.

The length of Ampera Bridge is 1,117 meters and the width is 22 meters. The height of the bridge from the water surface is 11.5 meters.
There are two towers with a height of 63 meters from the ground. The distance between the towers is approximately 75 meters, and they weigh around 944 tons.
Initially, the middle section of Ampera Bridge could be lifted to allow large ships to pass. However, the lifting operation was discontinued in 1970 to ensure smooth traffic on the bridge.
In 1990, the counterweights for lifting the middle section were removed for safety reasons.
